Drawing Miss Donna Mae II
For my Dad's birthday this year I drew a picture of his boat in dock, based on a photo. It was largely a further exploration of the shapes-first method, rather than the sketch/outline-first method I started with when first getting into drawing on a tablet. I think it turned out fairly well, particularly the waves in the water and the rendering on the forward railings.

If I had to do it again, I would try to be more careful of the uniformity of perspective lines, particularly the left-side wooden walkway slats vs. the right-side lines of the dock and building. I like the shapes-first method because it's faster and it forces me to deliberate, and stall, a lot less in the planning stage, and get right into drawing, but I think this kind of compositional structuring can get lost in the rush forward, when there isn't enough preliminary sketch work, especially between separate components.
But still, for a pretty simple subject it came out pretty well, it definitely looks like the thing, and parts are very good.
